The iconic electric sedan recorded 6,100 new registrations in just one week, setting a new record since the launch of its much-anticipated upgrade, known as the 'Highland'. This significant milestone was achieved between June 17 and 23, 2024, according to local sales data shared by @Tslachan on social media.
Breaking down the numbers further reveals even more impressive trends. June has shown a robust upward trajectory for Tesla’s Model 3 and Model Y registrations in China:
- June 3-9: 12,000 units
- June 10-16: 11,700 units
- June 17-23: 17,500 units

Adding more color to these stats, Tesla analyst Roland Pircher highlighted on his social media, “Tesla China had its highest year-to-date sales last week, and with the launch of the Performance model, it marked the highest Model 3 sales since I’ve been tracking this data.”
This recent wave of registrations not only underscores Tesla's strategic strength in one of the world's most lucrative EV markets but also signifies a notable quarter-over-quarter sales increase of 13.1%. Although there was a year-to-date decline of 4.6% compared to the same period last year, the sales surge last week represents the highest week of the year for Tesla registrations in China, further validating Pircher's insights.
