In a bold move to revolutionize electric vehicle (EV) infrastructure in New York City, Revel has onboarded several former key Tesla Charging employees. This strategic recruitment aims to solidify Revel's ambitious plans to enhance their charging locations across the city's five boroughs.

The company announced the appointment of Henry Misas as Senior Design Manager and Tedy Filis as Senior Manager of Charging Deployment. These experienced professionals will report to Ed Noseworthy, another ex-Tesla employee serving as Director of Design and Construction at Revel. With their wealth of experience from Tesla, these new hires are set to bring innovative solutions to one of the densest urban landscapes in the United States.

Revel's EV-Only Ride-Sharing Platform

Revel operates a unique ride-sharing platform exclusively utilizing electric vehicles. This environmentally friendly approach provides numerous benefits for drivers and passengers alike, positioning the company as a leader in sustainable urban mobility.

Revel's expansion ambitions include utilizing Tesla's abandoned Supercharger sites scattered across New York. Over the years, the company has faced significant challenges expanding its infrastructure, particularly in Manhattan. The city’s limited real estate presents a logistical challenge for installing new charging stations, but Revel is determined to overcome these hurdles with creativity and perseverance.

According to CEO Frank Reig, “Revel is building fast charging in the densest, most congested places in America. It’s not easy, but it’s absolutely necessary. These are not one-size-fits-all projects. To get them done, we need creativity and hustle. Henry, Tedy, and Ed each have those qualities, making them a great fit for our team.”

Expertise from Tesla

Misas brings over six years of experience from Tesla, where he served as the Senior Design Manager. He played a critical role in designing and installing over 100 Supercharger stations in the Northeast U.S., contributing to the growth of a robust charging network.

Likewise, Filis spent more than three years at Tesla, most notably as the Regional Construction Lead for the Northeast. His expertise in managing significant construction projects will be invaluable as Revel embarks on its major expansion plans.

“On to the next chapter and excited to be back breaking ground in NYC again!” Filis expressed enthusiastically on LinkedIn. “I’m joining Revel to help facilitate EV charging construction projects in the five boroughs and beyond — and these are no small sites. We’ve got a lot of work ahead and I’m excited to be helping Revel build an exciting future.”

Expansion Plans and Upcoming Projects

Revel has some colossal plans queued up for the summer, starting with a new charging location in Lower Manhattan's Pier 36, featuring 10 stalls. Following this, large-scale projects are set to launch in Maspeth, Queens, South Bronx, and LaGuardia Airport, among others. These initiatives are crucial steps in Revel's mission to create a more accessible and extensive network of EV charging stations throughout New York City.

The company’s aggressive approach to expanding its footprint is not just about installing more chargers—it’s about revolutionizing the way New Yorkers think about and use electric vehicles. With the combined expertise of former Tesla veterans and Revel’s innovative vision, the future of EV infrastructure in NYC looks particularly promising.
