Everyone loves a good underdog story, but what happens when the hero wasn't underestimated in the first place? Enter the Koenigsegg Jesko. Officially rated at 1,600 metric horsepower, this Swedish powerhouse's real-world performance shatters expectations.

In recent dyno tests conducted by Steve Hamilton, a.k.a. The Hamilton Collection, and overseen by Christian von Koenigsegg himself, the Jesko proved its mettle. On the hub dyno, the Jesko clocked 1,374 PS (approximately 1,355 horsepower) at the hubs. With drivetrain loss considerations, that's a whopping 1,616 PS (1,594 horsepower) at the crankshaft, surpassing Koenigsegg's already impressive official numbers.

A Beast Unleashed

The Jesko's 5.0L twin-turbo V8 engine isn't just about sheer power. This flat-plane crankshaft V8 revs up to 8,500 RPM, delivering maximum torque of 1,106 pound-feet at 5,100 RPM. Even more impressive is its torque curve, with 738 pound-feet available from 2,700 to 6,170 RPM.

All this power is managed by Koenigsegg's innovative Light Speed Transmission, featuring nine forward gears and contributing to the car's blistering performance. On its first dyno run, the Regera pushed an outstanding 1,548 PS (1,527 horsepower) at the crank. The second run upped the ante to 1,564 PS (1,543 horsepower).
