Unleashing Power: New AC Cobra GT Coupe Set to Roar with 654 HP
AC Cars is marking their 123rd anniversary with the announcement of the upcoming Cobra GT Coupe, following the success of last year's Roadster model. The Coupe promises larger dimensions, modern technology, and a potent 5.0-liter V8 engine.
The teaser image hints at a design akin to the GT Roadster, blending classic aesthetics with the functionality of a fully enclosed cockpit. With a larger carbon-composite body, this model is expected to cater to taller drivers and feature a modern interior complete with both analog gauges and a 10.25-inch infotainment system.
The highlight of the Coupe will be the supercharged 5.0-liter V8 engine that can churn out an impressive 654 horsepower and 575 lb-ft of torque. Initial performance figures suggest a 0-62 mph sprint in 3.4 seconds and a top speed of 173 mph.
With an aluminum space frame and the thunderous V8 powerplant, the AC Cobra GT Coupe is anticipated to offer an entry-level variant with 454 hp and 420 lb-ft of torque. Moreover, it is likely to be available in both left and right-hand drive configurations, with options for automatic and manual transmissions and a limited production run for exclusivity.
Excitement is brewing as AC Cars is now accepting reservations for the Cobra GT Coupe. However, interested buyers should be prepared with a substantial budget as the Roadster variant starts at £240,000 ($307,445 / €280,832).
