Uncovering the Hidden Secret of the 2023 Corvette Stingray DCT Upgrade - Track Rats Beware!
When Chevrolet first introduced the 2020 Corvette Stingray, track enthusiasts were advised to add two extra quarts of fluid to the dual-clutch transmission for optimal performance. In a surprising twist, the 2023 model year saw a production change with a redesigned transmission pan, rendering this additional fluid unnecessary. However, the owner's manual was not updated to reflect this, leading to confusion among owners.
Thankfully, renowned figures in the Corvette community such as Mike Furman and the MidEngine Corvette Forum have uncovered the exact VINs indicating when the production change occurred for the 2023 Stingrays. This significant upgrade, introduced with a revised transfer case, eliminated the need for extra fluid, starting at sequence #37263 for regular Stingrays and #3905 for the 70th Anniversary Editions.
With a total of 47,372 2023 Stingrays produced, including both regular and 70th Anniversary models, only a fraction received the updated DCT. Thanks to the diligent efforts of key figures in the Corvette world, such as Mike Furman and John at the MECF, this valuable information has been shared with enthusiasts.
