In a post earlier this month, Tesla's CEO Elon Musk announced that Optimus' hands are set to receive an upgrade to 22 degrees of freedom (DoF) later this year. For context, human hands have 27 degrees of freedom, so this enhancement would bring the humanoid robot even closer to human hand functionality.
