Tesla hinted earlier this year that Sidney would host a new Supercharger, and now it's confirmed to be installed at Sandown Park. Just about 30 kilometers north of downtown Victoria, this location is prime for both local commuters and travelers. The information, first shared by notable Tesla watchdog @MarcoRPi1, indicates that the new installation will feature 16 stalls along McDonald Park Road.

Evolution of Sandown and Consumer Convenience

Historically known for its horse-racing track, Sandown has transformed significantly. It is now a bustling area featuring a Canadian Tire store, and the new Supercharger location lies within the second phase of the shopping center’s expansion. While it hasn't been officially confirmed whether the upcoming Superchargers will be Tesla’s V3 or V4 models, it’s likely that these next-gen chargers will be installed. Currently, the only Supercharger in Greater Victoria is located in the Uptown Shopping Centre, which uses older, slower urban chargers situated in a hard-to-find spot within the parkade—a setup that many users have found cumbersome.
