Ahead of the curve, last week saw a thrilling homage not from a car manufacturer, but from Ducati. Widely recognized as a favorite in Senna's two-wheeled endeavors, the Italian bike maker rolled out a special edition of its celebrated Monster motorcycle. This Ducati Monster Senna pays homage to the driver’s illustrious career and unmistakable style.
Senna remains one of Formula 1’s most revered figures, with three championship titles clinched in 1988, 1990, and 1991, all under the McLaren banner. Had his life not been tragically cut short at the 1994 San Marino Grand Prix, who knows where his unparalleled talent might have taken him? Now, McLaren seeks to immortalize its bond with the legend through a car that bears his name and celebrates his remarkable legacy today.
The McLaren Senna stands as their most extreme road car ever, designed to deliver a jaw-dropping performance. Under its hood roars a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine producing a staggering 789 horsepower and 800 Nm of torque. This powertrain allows the car to rocket from a standstill to 124 mph (200 kph) over just 100 meters—an engineering marvel befitting the man it honors.
Enter the McLaren Senna Sempre. This pre-production model, owned by McLaren, sports a special hand-applied livery that is as eye-catching as it is symbolic. The chosen colors—green, yellow, and blue—reflect not only Senna’s iconic helmet but also the Brazilian flag, a perfect tribute to his heritage and spirit.
The Senna Sempre features a livery that dances with these colors, predominantly showing blue and green on the front and rear, while yellow accents grace the sides. The front end and rear wing sides proudly display Senna's double S logo, with his name prominently emblazoned on the wing’s top.

The creative application of the livery also incorporates a wash technique that blends the colors elegantly, simulating the effect of a waving flag—a touching nod to Senna’s enduring influence. Inside, the Senna Sempre showcases yellow Alcantara upholstery with green perforations on its seats, encapsulating luxury and precision. The doors, sheathed in black Alcantara, feature Senna's signature and one of his most famous quotes: “I have no idols. I admire work, dedication, and competence.”
Beyond this special vehicle, McLaren honors Senna in their Formula 1 endeavors as well. During the upcoming Monaco Grand Prix—a race Senna triumphed at a record six times—McLaren's F1 cars, driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri, will sport a special livery in the same trio of colors. Spectators will also get the chance to see the McLaren Senna Sempre on display.
