This Lamborghini Revuelto Achieves 0-60 in Record-Shattering Time, Faster Than Ever
The Lamborghini Revuelto Redefines Speed with Jaw-Dropping 0-60 Time

The Lamborghini Revuelto has descended from automotive heaven, and its acceleration is nothing short of spectacular. Thanks to Brooks Weisblat of DragTimes, we got an electrifying peek at what this 1,001-horsepower marvel can do from a standstill. Hitting 60 mph in a blistering 2.58 seconds on a public road in far-from-ideal conditions, the Revuelto has made quite the entrance. And that’s without the one-foot rollout, which, when included, drags the time down to an astounding 2.35 seconds.

But let's not forget the conditions. Weisblat’s test was performed on a humid day with temperatures far from optimal for a naturally aspirated V12. It's almost terrifying to think about how much faster the Revuelto could be on a professional drag strip optimally prepped with VHT. Moreover, the man himself can’t wait to get his hands on his own Revuelto, set for delivery in just a few weeks.

This isn't Lamborghini's First Rodeo

Lamborghini enthusiasts will recall the Aventador Super Veloce Jota (SVJ), which still holds its ground as the fastest Lambo around the Nurburgring Nordschleife. Achieving a jaw-dropping lap time of 6:44.97 back in July 2018, the SVJ held its own against giants like the Porsche 911 GT3 RS and the Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series. Presently, the fastest road-legal cars at the Green Hell are the 991.2-gen Porsche 911 GT2 RS with a Manthey Performance Kit clocking in at 6:38.835 and the practically extraterrestrial Mercedes-AMG ONE reaching 6 minutes 30 seconds.

Power and Efficiency: The Perfect Marriage

Gifted with a 9,500-rpm screamer of a V12, the Revuelto features a different engine – codenamed L545, an evolution from the Aventador’s L539. While maintaining an almost identical displacement of 6,498.5 cubic centimeters and a multi-point injection system, the Revuelto’s engine is a marvel of modern engineering. Areas of improvement include a new block casting, freer-flowing intake and exhaust systems, a lighter crankshaft, and upgraded valve gears. This new engine package helps the L545 shed 17 kilograms (37 pounds) compared to its predecessor.

Next-Gen Engineering & Hybrid Technology

Equally impressive is the Revuelto’s new transversely mounted dual-clutch transmission with eight forward gears, housing one of its three electric drive units. These electric motors are powered by a high-voltage battery, replacing the supercapacitor configuration found in the Sian and Countach models. While the battery's capacity is a relatively modest 3.8 kilowatt-hours, it still offers around a 10-kilometer driving range – about 6 miles – where the car runs on front-wheel drive only.

As Lamborghini’s first plug-in hybrid to cross the 1,000-horsepower threshold, the Revuelto offers more than just power; it’s also a showcase of improved rigidity. Thanks to a carbon-fiber monocoque, a carbon front structure, an aluminum rear subframe, and predominantly carbon bodywork, the car’s torsional stiffness is enhanced by 25%, going from 35,000 to 40,000 Nm.

The Price of Perfection

With all these revolutionary features, it’s no surprise that the Revuelto commands a premium price tag – slightly over $600,000, or about $110,000 more than its predecessor, the Aventador. Nevertheless, with significantly improved aerodynamics that create 66% more downforce compared to the Aventador LP 780-4 Ultimae, the cost seems justified.

If you ever wondered what a synthesis of raw, unadulterated power and cutting-edge technology looks like, the Lamborghini Revuelto is your answer. An engineering marvel that promises not just to meet, but to redefine, the limits of automotive performance.
