A tragic fate has befallen a Koenigsegg Jesko, which was reduced to a smoldering heap during an enthusiasts' event in Greece. With only 125 Jeskos destined for the world's roads, each one is a rare gem among hypercars. Koenigsegg’s meticulously planned production run of 40 to 50 cars per year now stands reduced, following this catastrophic incident during the 6to6 Motor Europe Tour. The Jesko was making its way from Athens to Monaco, navigating a route that slices through Romania, Albania, Croatia, and Italy. Unfortunately, it never made it past the suburbs of Athens.
Within mere minutes of setting off from a luxury hotel in the Athenian heartland, the Jesko was engulfed in an inferno, giving its occupants no choice but to abandon the vehicle. Though traveling at a leisurely pace, the hypercar spontaneously caught fire, possibly exacerbated by the extreme heatwave sweeping across eastern and southern Europe, where temperatures have soared past 35 degrees Celsius (95 degrees Fahrenheit).

This particular Jesko was practically brand-new, with just 124 miles (200 kilometers) under its belt before meeting its fiery end. Engineers from Koenigsegg have since made the trip from Sweden to Greece to investigate and retrieve what remains of the hypercar. Both Koenigsegg’s team and Greek police are rigorously examining the incident to unearth the root cause of the fire.
The lost Jesko was no ordinary model; it featured an unpainted carbon fiber package worth $443,400 and exquisite 24-carat gold trim accents. Now, those luxurious details resemble nothing more than charred remnants, possibly needing a broom to gather up the molten debris. For its owner, it must be heart-wrenching to see $4 million evaporate in seconds.

Koenigsegg Jesko's Attack version is a beastly marvel. Powered by a rear-mid-mounted 309-cubic-inch (5.1-liter) V8 engine, it unleashes a staggering 1,578 horsepower (1,600 metric horsepower) when running on E85 fuel. Even on regular petrol, it still boasts an impressive 1,280 horsepower (1,298 metric horsepower). The engine is paired with a nine-speed multi-clutch Koenigsegg Light Speed Transmission (LST), channeling all this power to the rear wheels for an electrifying driving experience.
