Exclusive Look at New BMW M2 CS Testing in Extreme Conditions Will Blow Your Mind
BMW's M Division has been hard at work testing the highly anticipated new M2 CS, and our spy photographers have captured exclusive images of it undergoing rigorous testing near the Arctic Circle. The prototype was spotted with minimal camouflage, showcasing similarities to the regular M2 with some distinctive differences in the front and rear bumpers and a more pronounced ducktail spoiler on the CS model.
One intriguing observation is the absence of a chin spoiler on this prototype, likely omitted to prevent snow and ice damage during testing. Speculations suggest that the new M2 CS could feature a carbon fiber reinforced plastic (CFRP) hood, lightweight roof, enhanced suspension, upgraded brakes, a unique exhaust system, larger wheels, and interior elements like Alcantara upholstery and CS branding.
The biggest mystery lies in the engine specifications, with rumors hinting at a power output ranging from 453 to 500+ horsepower. While the potential addition of a manual transmission has been speculated, it's more probable to see a dual-clutch gearbox. These enhancements are expected to lower the 0-60 mph time to around 3.5 seconds and achieve a top speed of over 177 mph. The speculated starting price for the 2025 BMW M2 CS is approximately $70,000, positioning it above the current M2 model.
