The forthcoming arrival of Tesla Megapacks at a monumental energy storage site near Melbourne, Australia, heralds a new chapter in the country's pursuit of renewable energy. This initiative, known as the Melbourne Renewable Energy Hub (MREH), is setting the stage for what will become one of the largest batteries in the world, underscoring Australia’s commitment to sustainable power and technological innovation.
Located in Melton, Victoria, the MREH project is meticulously engineered to accommodate 444 Tesla Megapacks. Once operational, the project will boast a capacity of 600 MW and 1.6 GWh of energy storage.
