What better occasion than the 1000 Miglia to let the world see the stunning new Alfa Romeo Junior in action? Enzo Ferrari once described this event as 'the most beautiful race in the world,' and Alfa Romeo has enjoyed numerous victories here, solidifying its legendary status.
This year, the latest member of the Alfa family arrives alongside classics like the 1900 Sport Spider from 1954 and the 1900 Super Sprint from 1956. Also making a grand appearance are the two latest versions of the Giulia and Stelvio Quadrifoglio, both Super Sport editions that commemorate Alfa's initial victory in 1928. Yet, the spotlight is firmly on the Junior.
Junior: The New Prodigy
Amidst a lineup of iconic Alfa Romeos, the Alfa Romeo Junior could not have wished for a grander introduction. Out of 400 participants, over 50 are Alfa Romeos, making the brand the most represented team at the 1000 Miglia.
It's a spectacular sight to witness historic Alfa models cruising alongside the modern Junior, showcasing technology that takes the brand to new heights. For the first time, Alfa Romeo introduces an EV option in the Junior. Additionally, there's a mild-hybrid powertrain that pairs a 136-horsepower 1.2-liter engine with intelligent all-wheel drive supported by an electric motor on the rear axle.
Tech enthusiasts will appreciate its Level 2 driver assistance capabilities, LED matrix headlights, and even ChatGPT integration within the infotainment system.
Along for the Ride
The Motor1 Italy team is following the 1000 Miglia closely. Andrea Farina will be driving the 1956 1900 Super Sprint, car number 405, with automotive influencer Davide Cironi as his co-driver.
Lorenzo Curatti captures all the behind-the-scenes action, reporting on the Junior, the dedication of Alfa mechanics, and the story of the 1954 1900 Sport Spider, driven by 1993 DTM champion Nicola Larini with rally navigator Luca Ciucci by his side.
The plethora of Alfa Romeos this year is nothing short of breathtaking. It's like an open-air, dynamic museum exhibit that every car enthusiast must see. We look forward to your social media posts; remember to tag us!
