2026 Mercedes-Benz AMG C-Class EV: The Dawn of Electrified Powerhouses

In a bold move, Mercedes-Benz AMG has already stepped away from the V-8 engines in its latest C 63 models, and they are now poised to introduce a C-Class that operates purely on electric power. The all-electric compact sedan from Mercedes-Benz will soon join the C-Class family, and AMG is crafting a high-performance version that promises to be a game-changer.

First Glimpse at High-Performance Electrification

Performance Beyond Expectations

Currently, AMG’s C 43 delivers 402 horsepower from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine. The more potent C 63 cranks out a whopping 671 horsepower by combining a 2.0-liter turbo-four with a plug-in hybrid system. This leaves ample room for speculation that the new AMG C-Class EV could pack a serious punch.

The platform the C-Class EV is built on is known as MB.EA Small. It's a dedicated EV architecture that will also underlie the upcoming electric GLC-Class. Spy shots and prototypes of the GLC-Class EV, including an AMG version, have been spotted in action as well.

A Broader Electric Horizon

The 2026 models, including the C-Class EV and GLC-Class EV, are anticipated to hit the U.S. market next year. Excitingly, the AMG versions are expected to launch concurrently.
